Haunted Train Station

From the 1880s, funeral trains (identified by the white crosses painted on them) ran from Auckland Central to Glen Eden train station each Sunday, carrying deceased bodies to their final resting place at nearby Waikumete CemeteryThe train station building seen below is supposedly haunted by an assortment of lingering travellers of the past, but is most famously frequented by the ghost of Alex McFarlane, a train station worker that met his demise with a gruesome death on the platform in 1924.  There is a now a cafe inside the building which is a bonus if you’re keen for a feed and a ghost hunt…forgotten.co.nz_ 007 forgotten.co.nz_ 004forgotten.co.nz_ 006
